| HOW TO CLEAN YOUR HOOVER 1 Wipe down the exterior of your Hoover vacuum cleaner with a moist towel or washcloth. This will remove any dust or small debris clinging to the outer-casing. If you notice dried on or sticky messes, add a little soap to the washcloth and scrub vigorously. 2 Replace the filter in your vacuum cleaner with a brand new, clean Hoover-brand filter. Such filters are designed to trap dust and allergens, according to Hoover.com, but they only work if they are changed regularly. 3 Tilt the vacuum cleaner back, exposing its underside. 4 Unscrew the protective plate covering the "brush roll." On some Hoover models, the plate is simply snapped in rather than screwed in. 5 Put on rubber gloves to avoid getting your hands too dirty, as the brush roll is typically filthy. 6 Cut off any hair or other long pieces of debris wrapped around the brush roll. 7 Pull out other large pieces of debris trapped in the brush by using your gloved hands. 8 Spin the brush roll with your fingers, cleaning the surface with soap and water as you turn it. For very difficult to remove, dried on stains use a little rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball to loosen the caked on mess. 9 Reattach the protective plate when you've finished cleaning the brush roll. Your Hoover vacuum cleaner is now dirt free and ready to use without major dust or allergy concerns. |
